Great points, Matt! Yep, Kiffin has been able to get some prime coaching jobs without any discernible coaching skills! Doing the most with the least is something remarkable, no?

I think the recruiting violations coming USC's way are going to be serious, and could end up being a bit of karmic payback for a career of leaving teams in the lurch. And UT fans are MUCH better off without him!

Love him or hate him, I want whatever Kool-Aid this guy is drinking. He somehow, with pretty much NO track record - a horrible stint with the Raiders and a less-than-stellar season with the Vols - has managed to get one of, if not THE best Coaching position in College Football. I don't know what this guy is doing, but he must be a rock-star at selling himself behind closed doors.

It does prove that RESULTS aren't everything - that being a likable/persuasive person (which I guess he is) can go a long long way. Growing up in Tennessee - I know the UT fans feel pretty betrayed, and rightfully so, but good for Lane for getting people to buy into whatever he is selling.

Will he do well at USC? I'm sure he'll do OK - but there's nothing there to tell us that he will have great success.
